Artist Reception for Jo-Ann Thompson-Claybourne with her Vibrant Artwork on Display

Jo-Ann is drawn to materials and uses feathers, fabric, wood, dried flowers and more, but it is the sheer joy of creating that comes through in her work.  The combination of vibrant colors and mixed media lures the viewer into a visual tour; each piece of artwork has a life of its own.  She embraces her heritage and explores her creativity in each of her unique pieces, embarking on an imaginative journey of art to be shared with the world.

Currently a Norwalk resident, Jo-Ann was born in Stamford, CT.  At age 5, she discovered her passion for making art. She went on to study at The School of Visual Arts in New York and has become well-known as an artist/art instructor in the Fairfield County area.  She has created programs for summer art camps at the Weston Field Club and for over 10 years has taught, Paint, Draw & More! Art classes throughout Fairfield County.  Her work has drawn national attention from newspapers and magazines, and she was featured in Furnishing Magazine’s article, “Up Against the Wall.”  Jo-Ann has also appeared on the television show, Our Lives with Gwen Edwards and on numerous radio broadcasts.
