GenForum - Genealogy forums searchable by regions or surnames.

HeritageQuest - This database is available through IConn.org and requires the barcode from a Connecticut library card to access.

Hour Newspaper Index - Check births, marriages and obituaries from 1984 to 2003.

INS History, Genealogy & Education - This site lists different types of immigration records, as well as,  where and how to find them.

    "These two institutions are developing a thematically-related digital library documenting American social history from the antebellum period through reconstruction." They have scanned in images of entire books and journals from 1850 to 1900.

National Archives & Records Administration Genealogy Page -Where and how to find genealogical  records.

Obituary Daily Times - A free index of daily published obituaries across the world. This site does not have the actual obituary, however, a search by name will bring up the index listing of the name with the information of where and when the obituary was published.

ProGenealogists:  Find out how common a surname is in different parts to the United States. Search uses the census information from 1850, 1880, 1920 and 1990 to track the distribution of surnames across America.
