Mobile HotSpot Lending

The Norwalk Public Library is now offering patrons the opportunity to borrow mobile Hotspots. This library lending program, Internet- to- Go, provides access to unlimited high-speed Internet, wherever you are. It’s perfect for those who have no Internet access at home, are going on vacation, or taking their business on the road. The NPL Hotspot – called MiFi - is an easy-to-use Verizon mobile Hotspot that keeps your tablet, laptop, smartphone, and other Wi-Fi enabled devices connected to the Internet. You can connect up to 15 devices to the 4G LTE network, and also charge external devices. Best of all, it’s FREE, with your Norwalk Public Library card in good standing!

Being able to connect to the Internet has become a necessary component of our daily lives. Whether your child needs to get school assignments and complete homework, or you want to shop, bank or conduct personal business, search for jobs, complete applications, view entertainment, DIY videos, or the thousands of other reasons you may have for connecting to the Internet, NPL’s Internet-to-Go now gives you an easy way to do it.

How to borrow a mobile hotspot:

Mobile Hotspot Kits are available at the Sidewalk desks - at the Main Library and SoNo Branch - on a walk-in basis
(sorry, Hotspot Kits cannot be reserved through the catalog or by phone).

  • They may be borrowed for a one (1) week period and are not renewable, with a one (1) per family limit.
  • Borrowers will be asked to provide additional ID (driver’s license, state photo ID, etc.) along with their library card, and to read and sign a form, agreeing to the library’s Wi-Fi Hotspot Lending Policy & Form (This may be printed, filled out and brought to the library to check out the hotspot).
